On July 1st,  80 CDSA kids had a fabulous interactive “Meet the Musicians” field trip in downtown Seattle!

International concert organist Douglas Cleveland, and Seattle Symphony cellist Roberta Downey, played music, shared stories of how they first learned their instruments & played in their public school, and then answered great questions from CDSA kids — many who are learning to play instruments in school too.

The kids also got to watch Diane Jacobson do an exciting musical ‘clogging’ dance performance. The fieldtrip finished with a chance to play the pipe organ, with its 5,000 pipes, some as tall as trees!

Afterwards CDSA kids enjoyed their sack lunches in the sunny park. What a great start to CDSA Summer Camp!
