CDSA is pleased to be able to offer you childcare on site at Montlake Elementary School. The before and after school program is housed in a portable outside of the main building. It is designated childcare space located in portable number one on the school playground across from the cafeteria. We are also fortunate to have use of the school gym, library and cafeteria and often visit the Arboretum near the school.

Amy Alexander – Montlake Center Center Director

amyAmy has been in childcare for about 11 years working with all ages from birth to 11 years old. She has worked in many different forums, mostly for non-profits and have been a Director, Lead Educator, a Mentor, and an Assistant Teacher. Amy also volunteered at a Co-op preschool for 2 years before fully coming into the field. She really enjoy working with children of all ages, and  plan to work closely with the children and families here at CDSA to make this program an enjoyable and exciting experience for everyone!

Amy graduated high school from Kentlake and then moved on to get her AA from Green River. She obtained her Early Childhood Education Certification from Renton Technical College and her Bachelors in Children’s Studies with a minor in Psychology and Sociology from Eastern Washington University. Amy lives in Renton near Fairwood with her husband, son and 3 kitties. When she’s  not ast CDSA she enjoys cooking, reading, snowboarding and trying new and interesting restaurants around Seattle.

Steve England – Enrichment Teacher

stephen-englandSteve is the Lead Enrichment teacher here at Montlake CDSA! Born in Rochester, NY. Steve graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester in 2006 with a B.S. in Sociology.
In 2010, he moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington to pursue his Masters in Education. Where he was a graduate assistant for the Huskies woman’s volleyball team and currently coach a 160 girls’ volleyball team for Sudden Impact Volleyball Club.
He is very excited to be a part of the Montlake CDSA team and look forward to getting to know everyone here!

Jeremy Johnson - Enrichment Teacher

jeremy-montlakeJeremy is excited to be back for his 4th year here at Montlake CDSA! He graduated from Mount Si High School in 2004. Jeremy played 4 years of varsity basketball and also went on to play in college. Currently, he works full-time at Fircrest School in the special education department as a Behavior Technician and also an Inclusion Specialist for the City of Redmond. Outside side of work, he spends his time working with Special Olympics, coaching basketball, soccer and softball and attending concerts.   

Justice Gudorf – Enrichment Teacher

Justice comes from Craftsbury, Vermont where he attended college at the Univerjusticesity of Vermont to study Philosophy and Asian Languages and Literatures. After graduating in 2011, Justice  moved to Phoenix, AZ for the summer to teach a 4th grade class of summer school students. Following this, Justice moved to Seattle to continue his teaching career. 
Justice has been working with children for over 8 years now as a coach, mentor, and instructor, and is excited to continue his teaching experience by working at Montlake CDSA. When Justice is working with students, he is volunteering in the community. Justice lives in Madison Park, and in his free time enjoys playing music and running. 

Kira O’Sullivan – Enrichment Teacher

Kira is thrilled  to be a part of such a great community! She is orginially from Canada,  but moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington on a rowing scholarship. Kira graduated in 2011 and was a varsity student on the woman’s crew team until July 2011. Before coming to CDSA, she was a part time nanny for school age children, recently she is committed as an intern working with the YMCA in their HR department! Kira looks forward to these new chapters in her life, and can not wait to meet and get to know all of you here!

 Kimberly Kennedy – Enrichment Teacher

kimberly-montlakeKimberly is excited to be here at Montlake! She spent last year with a bit of an older crowd, assisting with coaching the freshmen women’s rowing team at the University of Washington. It was a lot of fun and she loved interacting with people. Kimberly can’t wait to apply the skills she learned coaching towards being an enrichment teacher. 

She  is taking classes to become a nurse, or attempting to survive her crossfit classes!  She looks forward to getting to know everyone!

Mathew Wright – Enrichment Teacher

Mathew grew up across the sound on Bainbridge Island and just recently returned to the Seattle area after graduating from Portland State University in Oregon.  He currently has a degree in both English Literature and Creative Writing, and will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education in 2013, followed by a  MFA in writing.

Mathew looks forward to working with students and their families. Some of his hobbies includes  reading, writing, listening to music and attending the opera with his fiance,  Kate.
